Skills for Life is the Government initiative aimed at increasing the literacy and numeracy skills across the country. BHTA works with Skills for Life via the following Programmes: Train to GainEmployees who are eligible for Train to Gain funding (see table in Funding for Over 25s section) can also work towards the Literacy or Numeracy Basic Skills qualifications at Level 1. All Train to Gain learners receive a thorough induction, which includes initial assessment of current literacy and numeracy skills, so a tailored programme of support can be provided where needed. ApprenticeshipsAs part of all Apprenticeship programmes, learners work towards Communication and Application of Number Key Skills, unless they have already achieved a pass grade (A* to C) in their GCSE Maths or English - Language or Literature. (NB - qualifications need to be achieved within the last 5 years in order to qualify). Click on either the Basic Skills (for Train to Gain) or Key Skills (for Apprenticeships) links below, to find out more! |
