What is an NVQ?

National:

Nationally recognised as proof of your skills and abilities. 

Vocational:

You can't get an NVQ by simply sitting a written exam - you need to show that you can do the jobs efficiently! 

Qualification:

You get a certificate for all areas of work where you have shown your abilities (eg dealing with customers, processing data in a database)

What do you Need to Do to Get an NVQ?

An NVQ asssessor will visit you regularly at work (eg once a month) to plan the units that are relevant to your job role from those available (see NVQ areas for information on qualification structures)
